Who writes this site, and how
robista compares home robots — vacuums, pool robots, robot mowers — using an identical grid for all three families, published in full in each review. This page explains who writes, from what sources, and who pays.
The publisher
The editorial team
robista is published by Ali Bolat, a Swiss entrepreneur specialising in automation and artificial intelligence. The editorial team, based in French-speaking Switzerland, has been covering the home-robot market since 2025 and applies the same grid to the three product families.
What this site does
Each review is built on six weighted criteria, and the weighting is published in its Method section — not summarised, published. Every data point carries a marker showing its source:
- C Manufacturer data: the manufacturer's public spec sheet, reproduced as is.
- A Summary of public reviews: feedback from users and after-sales service, kept only when the same point comes up again and again.
- E Editorial estimate: treat it as an order of magnitude, never as a measurement.
Prices are never entered by hand: they come from the Amazon API and are refreshed automatically, with the date of the last update shown under each entry. Only models actually sold on Amazon.co.uk are ranked — a robot that cannot be found has no place in a buying comparison.
What this site does not do
No lab testing is claimed. These machines have not been measured by the editorial team, and saying so is more useful than pretending otherwise. This site shows no scores or Amazon review counters either, and never ranks according to the amount of commission. When a figure is an estimate, it is marked as such.
How the site is funded
Through Amazon affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, robista earns a commission on qualifying purchases. This changes neither the price you pay nor the order of the rankings: the weighting is public precisely so that you can verify this yourself.
A mistake, a correction
Spec sheets change, and so do product references. If a figure looks wrong or outdated, let us know: corrections are made at the next revision, and the revision date is shown at the top of each review. Write to the editorial team.
