Aiper Scuba SE: our review
An entry-level product that doesn't pretend otherwise: 90 minutes, floor only, 3.4 kg and an express drain. On a flat-bottomed above-ground pool, it does the job for a fraction of the price of the models above.

Who it's for
- An above-ground pool or a flat-bottomed pool with no slope, up to 80 m², for someone who wants to stop hand-vacuuming without paying the price of a wall-cleaning robot.
Who it's not for
- Pools with a slope, a deep end, or where the walls and waterline are a problem. The manufacturer explicitly excludes sloped floors.
The best entry point, under conditions
The Scuba SE doesn't hide what it is: a floor robot, for flat-bottomed pools with no slope, up to 80 m²C, with 90 minutes of runtimeC. That « no slope » note is printed in black and white on the manufacturer's spec sheet and deserves to be read twice: on a pool with a sloped floor, even slightly, this robot is out of its intended scope. Light, and it changes everything

The hydrodynamic design is said to reduce energy consumption in favour of suctionC. For an owner who simply wants a clean floor, this absence of options is a quality, not a shortcoming.
What should make you hesitate
The limitations are those of its category and the manufacturer doesn't hide them: no walls, no waterline, no sloped floor. The 90 minutes of runtime are the shortest on this page, which is consistent with the scope but leaves little margin on a pool close to 80 m². If your walls turn green, this robot won't solve your problem — it will only save you the floor scrubbing.

Does the Scuba SE work in a sloped pool?
No. The manufacturer specifies « flat floor with no slope ». On a pool with an inclined floor, the robot won't cover the surface properly. It's the most important limitation to check before ordering.
Is 90 minutes enough?
For an above-ground pool or a small flat-bottomed pool, yes, comfortably. On a pool close to the stated 80 m², the margin gets tight: a model with 130 or 180 minutes will be more comfortable.
What's the difference with the Aiper Scuba E1?
The E1 is bigger and better equipped: three motors, filtration rated at 3 microns, a 3.6 L debris tray and up to 130 minutes of runtime. Both are floor-only, but the E1 targets larger pools. The SE remains the choice for a small budget and a small pool.
How do I maintain the filter?
Rinse it in clean water after every cycle, without detergent, and let it dry in the shade. A clogged filter drops suction long before the battery gives out.
