What you get at the entry price

The ViAX 250 could have been a basic robot; it is not. The UltraEyes 1.0 system combines HDR imaging with perception algorithms, with a 120° by 70° field of view and an advertised 50-metre rangeC. Installation is wire-free, with no RTK station or signal postsC. You get the U-shaped pattern and dual edge cuttingC, as well as the TrueGuard anti-theft with lift alertC — features you would not expect at this level.

The compromise: vision only

This is the point to understand before buying. Unlike the LiDAX Ultra 800 or the GOAT A1600, this model has neither LiDAR nor RTK: all navigation relies on dual visionC. On a single-plot, clear and regular garden, it works. On a fragmented, heavily shaded lawn or one bordered by low obstacles, a vision-only system becomes clearly less reliable than LiDAR, which actively measures with laser rather than interpreting an image. That is exactly what you save on the price.

Terrain and obstacle avoidance

Its front-wheel drive, omnidirectional rear wheel and all-terrain tyres are advertised for grip on uneven groundC. More than 300 obstacles are identified by the algorithms, from people and animals to the garden hoseC — that last mention is not trivial: a hose on the ground is the classic obstacle most robot mowers cut through.

What should make you hesitate

The 250 m² is a manufacturer recommendationC, not a theoretical maximum: on a sloped lawn or one split into several zones, plan a margin. Vision alone remains this model's accepted compromise. Finally, Mova is a young brand in this segmentA, and the availability of parts in the medium term is not establishedE — a point that applies to most recent brands on this page.

Is anti-theft included?
